英国士兵肖恩（卡勒姆·特纳 Callum Turner 饰）被控告在阿富汗服役期间滥杀无辜，负责为他辩护的律师汉娜（劳拉·哈德克 Laura Haddock 饰）凭借着视频证据中的漏洞替肖恩争取到了无罪判决。 然而，没过多久，汉娜失踪了，而监控录像留下的影像中，是肖恩对汉娜重拳出击随后将她绑架的一幕幕。瑞秋（荷丽黛·格兰杰 Holliday Grainger 饰）凭借着自己在反恐小组的赫赫战功晋升成为督察，接手了肖恩的案子。对于自己在视频中的所作所为，肖恩矢口否认，而他激动的样子让瑞秋几乎要相信他是无辜的了。在眼见为实的证据和自己从业多年的直觉之间，瑞秋该相信哪一个呢？而眼睛所看到的画面，真的就是一切的真相吗？
