影片讲述，大灾难纪元，地球沦为废土，幸存者分为流浪者和平民，他们都依附在星际武装集团的统治下，其中游荡者依靠掠夺平民的物资作为生计，使得平民在这恶劣的环境之中艰难生存，百年后黑科技爆炸，带来文明复兴，面对日益恶化的星球，人类为延续种族繁衍，决心星际移民。其中华裔科研人员海雷研制出的“曲率发动机”成为此次星际移民的关键，也是游荡者和星际武装集团抢夺的目标。
